The Jive Aces
When The Jive Aces take the stage, it’s not merely a performance—it’s a celebration. These guys aren’t just playing tunes - they’re living the music, and they’ve been doing it at the top of their game for over two decades. From their unmistakable yellow suits to their expertly tight rhythm section, The Jive Aces are as much a visual delight as they are a musical powerhouse.
A six-piece ensemble of impeccable musicianship, they blend a rich mix of classic swing, jive, and rhythm & blues that is timeless and electrifying. These cats are known for a precision that’s as sharp as a needle and an energy that makes the whole room snap to the beat. And let’s not forget their performance at the Royal Albert Hall, or their unforgettable set for Her Majesty the Queen - these are the kinds of gigs that mark the measure of a band that’s simply in a class of its own.
Their rendition of "Bring Me Sunshine" is nothing short of iconic - so much so that it’s been prescribed by a doctor in Seattle as a mood-lifter for his patients!
And let’s talk about their unforgettable performance at The Garden Bar last summer—The Jive Aces set the place ablaze with pure magic that left everyone buzzing for days. Simply put, these guys bring the heat - and they’ll bring it again at their very own Jivin' at The George. Get ready!!

4pm
Hugh Reed & the Velvet Underpants
Step right up, ladies and gentlemen, for a performance that defies convention and embraces the absurd! Hugh Reed & the Velvet Underpants are not just a band—they're a theatrical whirlwind, a carnival, and a comedic tour de force all rolled into one. Fronted by the enigmatic Hugh Reed, this Glasgow-based ensemble has been captivating audiences with their eclectic mix of rock, punk, funk, and surreal performance art since the early '90s. Their shows are musical mayhem that leaves spectators bewildered, delighted and exhilerated.
Having shared stages with the likes of The Fall, Half Man Half Biscuit, Mogwai, and Simple Minds, and even receiving an invitation from Debbie Harry of Blondie to support her on an 11-date UK tour, Hugh Reed & the Velvet Underpants have solidified their reputation as one of Scotland's most unconventional and beloved acts. Their debut album, Take a Walk on the Clydeside, received extensive airplay across Europe, America, and Canada, further cementing their cult status.
But it's their live performances that truly set them apart. Imagine a stage adorned with television sets, glitter balls, and an overhead projector casting psychedelic visuals. Hugh Reed, ever the showman, dons various costumes—from a policeman to a bride—and engages in impromptu antics, often leaping into the crowd or wielding oversized props. It's a theatrical experience with the raw energy of punk rock.
Their setlist includes fan favorites like "Six to Wan," "Car Nicked," and "Scots and Proud," each delivered with infectious enthusiasm and a touch of irreverence. The band's tight rhythm section seamlessly shifts from punk rock to scat-funk, providing the perfect backdrop for Hugh's unforgettable and unpredictable performance.

His live shows are legendary, featuring a full band, performing original hits like "Turn the Music Up" or delivering a raucous cover of Nathaniel Rateliff's "S.O.B.,"
